If you are on the quest for the elusive bonefish then Great Harbour Cay, Bahamas is the place for you. Great Harbour is about an hours flight from Florida with its own landing strip where you can clear customs and immigration. The island is small (about seven square miles) but is charming and offers some of the best fishing in the Bahamas.

Taxi service is available and there are many restaurants for breakfast and dinner and they can provide sandwiches and drinks for fishing trips. Provisions can also be obtained at any of the many local grocery stores. Percy can also assist you in procuring accommodations for your trip as well.

Percy Darvile has been a guide for 42 years spending most of his time on Great Harbour. He knows these waters like the back of his hand. He has guided U.S. Presidents, professional golfers and well known actors in their search for the "Grey Ghost".

He maintains a fleet of three flats boats, a 16' Hewes Bayfisher, a 16' Action Craft and an 18' Hewes Redfisher. Great Harbour offers almost seven miles of wading flats of which 75% is all white sand. The bonefish are plentiful in a range of sizes with schools that can be in the hundreds.  Medium to large permit and mutton snappers can be found on the flats as well.

Percy offers reef fishing for yellowtail snapper and grouper, blue water trolling for kingfish, wahoo, dolphin and tuna.  The barracuda come in a variety of sizes too.

Deep dropping for yellow eye snapper, queen snapper, red snapper. black snapper and mistick grouper can be another challenge.

Percy recommends clients bring plenty of sunscreen, a couple of hats, light foul weather gear, rods and reels and any flies they may have tied or have in their collection.  The "Gotcha" and the mantis shrimp are very reliable flies for these waters.
